Himachal Pradesh ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വടക്കൻ ഭാഗത്തുള്ള മനോഹരമായ ഹിമാലയ സംസ്ഥാനമാണ്. “മഞ്ഞുമലകളുടെ നാട്” എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഹിമാചൽ പ്രദേശ് പ്രകൃതി സൗന്ദര്യം, മലനിരകൾ, ആപ്പിൾ തോട്ടങ്ങൾ, നദികൾ, താഴ്വരകൾ, വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ എന്നിവകൊണ്ട് പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ജമ്മു കാശ്മീർ, പഞ്ചാബ്, ഹരിയാന, ഉത്തരാഖണ്ഡ്, ടിബറ്റ് (ചൈന) എന്നിവയുമായി സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന് അതിർത്തികളുണ്ട്. സംസ്ഥാന തലസ്ഥാനം ഷിംലയാണ്; ധർമ്മശാല ശൈത്യകാല തലസ്ഥാനമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.
സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ വിസ്തീർണ്ണവും ജനസംഖ്യയും
ഹിമാചൽ പ്രദേശിന്റെ വിസ്തീർണ്ണം ഏകദേശം 55,673 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ ആണ്. മലനിരകളാൽ നിറഞ്ഞ ഭൂപ്രദേശമായതിനാൽ നിരവധി ഗ്രാമങ്ങൾ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട നിലയിലാണ്, യാത്രാസൗകര്യങ്ങളും പരിമിതമാണ്. സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ജനസംഖ്യ ഏകദേശം 75 ലക്ഷം ആളുകളാണ്. ഭൂരിഭാഗം ആളുകളും ഗ്രാമപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലാണ് താമസിക്കുന്നത്. കൃഷി, തോട്ടകൃഷി, വിനോദസഞ്ചാരം, ചെറുകിട വ്യവസായങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന വരുമാന മാർഗങ്ങൾ.
മതവും ജനങ്ങളും

Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful northern state of India located in the Himalayan mountain range. Known as the “Land of the Snowy Mountains,” Himachal Pradesh is famous for its natural beauty, hill stations, apple orchards, rivers, and valleys. The state shares borders with Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Tibet (China). The capital city is Shimla, while Dharamshala serves as the winter capital.
State Size and Population
Himachal Pradesh covers an area of approximately 55,673 square kilometers. Due to its mountainous terrain, many villages are isolated and difficult to access. The population is estimated at around 7.5 million people. Most people live in rural areas and depend on agriculture, horticulture, tourism, and small-scale industries for their livelihood.
Religion and People
Religion plays a major role in the culture and daily life of Himachal Pradesh. The majority of the population follows Hinduism, with many ancient temples and pilgrimage centers spread throughout the state.
Estimated religious composition:
- Hindus: approximately 95%
- Muslims: around 2%
- Christians: around 0.2%
- Others (Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and others): around 2.8%
In the higher Himalayan regions such as Lahaul-Spiti and parts of Kinnaur, Buddhism also has a significant presence. Christianity remains a very small minority, and many communities have limited exposure to the Gospel.
