Our Non-Negotiable Statement of Faith

Tens of thousands attend Sharon churches every week. While our congregations range from small fellowships to some of the largest churches in India and abroad, all members share a common foundation of faith known as our Fundamental Truths.

What We Believe

 OUR AIM

Sharon Fellowship Church accepts the sacred 66 books of the Bible as the inspired revelation of God — the foundation of faith, eternal hope, and the perfect guide for belief and conduct.

Articles of Faith

Sharon Fellowship Church accepts the sacred 66 books of the Bible as the inspired revelation of God — the foundation of faith, eternal hope, and the perfect guide for belief and conduct.

  1. The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
  2. One God exists eternally in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified, buried, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and now seated at the right hand of the Father as our Mediator.
  4. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; therefore, being born again is essential for redemption.
  5. Justification and new birth come through faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ.
  6. Sanctification comes through faith in the Blood of Jesus, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit.
  7. Holiness is the life doctrine for the people of God.
  8. Baptism in the Holy Spirit follows purification of the heart.
  9. Speaking in tongues, as enabled by the Holy Spirit, is the initial sign of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
  10. Water Baptism by immersion is commanded for all believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  11. Divine Healing is provided through Christ’s atoning sacrifice.
  12. The observance of the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints’ feet.
  13. God will raise the dead; believers who are alive will be transformed and caught up together in the clouds. Christ will return to reign for a thousand years before the Millennium.
  14. The resurrection of the body, eternal life for the saints, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Sacraments

Water Baptism

All born-again believers who accept Christ as Savior must receive water baptism by immersion, in obedience to the Lord’s command.

(Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47; Romans 6:4)

The minister conducting the baptism must be ordained or licensed and act in accordance with the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19)

Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s Supper is a sacred sacrament instituted in the New Testament.

Holiness – Decisions of the Church

The Church stands firmly upon the doctrine of holiness according to Scripture.

“Without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

Ministers and members alike must maintain holiness in personal lives, homes, and pulpits. Continuous self-examination, dedication, and spiritual discipline are essential.

Society & Fellowship

While recognizing the right to self-governance, the Church maintains freedom to have fellowship with other congregations that share the same doctrinal beliefs.
